Everest base camp trek is fairly popular trekking in the Nepalese Himalaya. This trek is located in eastern Nepal. Walking through the Sagarmatha national park can reach the base camp within 8 days with 2 extra acclimatization rest days.

Walking about an hour and a half from Lukla, you will cross a small river Thadokoshi and start following Dudhkoshi river valley to Phakding, Namche bazaar until you cross it on the fourth day going to Tengboche. Crossing many suspension bridges over this river could be an adventure walk. Leaving Dudhkoshi river valley, you will start following the Khumbu river valley after Tengboche until you cross it before Dingboche and go towards the Imja river valley.

Again you will be following Khumbu river valley which is coming from the base camp and Khumbu glacier until you reach the base camp. Again, you will be following these valleys on the way back to Lukla before fling out to Kathmandu.

Namche Bazaar – The Most Beautiful Sherpa Town

Located on the lap of a hill, the Namche bazaar is one of the most beautiful towns along the way on the Everest base camp. There will be a weekly marker starting from Friday until mid-day of Saturday. Many people higher from Namche, they will do regular shopping during this market for daily usages things.

There are several bars with game and movie shows every day where you can kill your time and enjoy. Besides the bars, you can visit some nice coffee shops and bakeries. If you don’t have enough trekking gears from Kathmandu, you can buy some in Namche Bazaar and do some souvenir shopping if you would like.

Not only shops and more but this town also offers a beautiful view of the mountains. There are some Buddhist monuments and monastery to visit as well as Sherpa cultural museum.

Vantage Viewpoints Which Offer Panoramic Mountain Views

There are several stunning viewpoints from where you can see panoramic mountain views. You should not miss these viewpoints so it will be worth visiting. The Everest view hotel, Tengboche hill, Nangkat-Tsang hill, and Kala Patthar are the viewpoints to see nice views of the Everest Himalayan ranges.

You will visit the Everest view hotel during your acclimatization day hike from Namche Bazaar. Tengboche hill will be on the way and Nangkar-Tsang hill while you will have the second day of the altitude practice day. Most of the trekkers will get tired after visiting the base camp and don’t care about climbing Kala Patthar but don’t scape this if you would be able to climb. This is a hill station to see Mt. Everest from a close distance and eye-captivating 360 degrees Himalaya all around you.

The base camp of Everest, of course, one of the main goals to visit. You will see lots of wild animals along the way. You will also see some colorful birds and flowers on this trek.
